Is pursuing a PhD at the Technological University of Dublin researching learning cultures in third level conservatoire environments. She earned her M.M. degrees in performance from Montclair State University where she also taught music history and the University of Kentucky where she served as the clarinet teaching assistant. She received a B.M. from Arizona State University in music performance under the direction of Dr. Robert Spring and Dr. Joshua Gardner, also graduating with a minor in philosophy. She apprenticed in clarinet repair with Atelier Mark Jacobi in Philadelphia from 2021-2023.

Breeden’s masters thesis, Perspectives on Cultivating a Positive Collegiate Clarinet Studio Environment: A Survey of Students and Professors, was selected as a finalist for the International Clarinet Association’s 2021 Research Competition. She wrote her distinguished undergraduate honors thesis at Arizona State University on Making Clarinet Reeds by Hand, and has written multiple articles for the Clarinet Online Journal. Her current research interests include the history and performance traditions of double clarinet playing.

Breeden is deeply invested in the music programs at local schools. She teaches clarinet, saxophone, and music theory at Saint Ultans School. Breeden also maintains a private studio of local and virtual students.

An artist who is passionate about introducing new music to the clarinet repertory, Breeden has premiered new works the last five years at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest, and will be premiering a new work by Odhrán O Casaide at the 2025 conference in Fort Worth. She will also perform a solo recital featuring works she commissioned at the European Clarinet Association’s 12th European Clarinet Congress in Salerno, Italy. The program will feature the world premiere of Righteous Anger by composer Sarah Lucas Page.
